Description
How Mental Health Affects Eating Habits
Depression, anxiety, and stress can all change the way we eat. Depression may lower motivation and appetite, or lead to emotional eating for comfort. Anxiety and high stress can shut down hunger or cause people to eat to soothe tension. These emotions can make it hard to notice hunger cues, plan meals, or choose balanced foods.
Understanding this connection helps us respond with self-compassion and make healthier, more mindful choices.
